So Mary and Joseph had a houseful of at least 7 children. People Praying to the Virgin Mary: So it seems that those who pray to the Virgin Mary are actually praying to the mother of at least 5 children who is not a virgin anymore at all. Only when she got pregnant with Jesus was she a virgin!  This is an important mystery to those who want to keep praying to someone who no longer exists.
